WINTER To the pistes
|
|
140 km of slopes of all levels
on the Folgarida-Marilleva-Campiglio
circuit. More pistes are to be found in
Val di Pejo and at the Tonale
Glacier. Ski schools specialize in children's
groups and beginners with their own slopes
and snow games. There are pistes for snowboarding
and sledging, too, cross-country skiing
tracks of international fame, there is also
open air ice skating and ice hockey. There
are countless trails for those wishing to
leave "civilization" behind and
be at one with nature, whether on foot,
horseback or in horse drawn sleighs you
can witness the white wonder of winter in
the valley. Something to remember for ever.
Before the apres ski life starts up you
can relax in a Swedish sauna, dive into
the pool or treat yourself to a health programme
at the Spas of Rabbi
and Pejo.

SPRING Verdant Valleys
|
|
The vibrantly verdant valley floor and
the woodland flora are a stark contrast
to the white-capped peaks all around, a
sight which delights us locals too. The
ideal setting to drink in the vigour of
new life springing forth, leaving dreary
winter worries behind, or to simply relax
away from it all.
A car ride to visit all the mountain passes
in the area, a day trip to the provincial
capital of Trento or Tyrolean township of
Merano, or an excursion to the Castles and
Sanctuaries of the nearby Val di Non, where
the apple trees, like those of the Val di
Sole, are in full blossom, are but a few
itineraries to be enjoyed.
And for gourmands there are the numerous
restaurants serving local specialities made
from local produce.

There are several country fairs during the

held in the squares of many villages in
the valley. Several pubs and discos have
live entertainment in the evenings.

AUTUMN A kaleidoscope of colour and basket
of fruit.
|
|
As the valley changes colour this is the
ideal time to snap a few shots of the fauna
as they prepare for the winter, to go gathering
mushrooms, chestnuts and hazelnuts. There
are also our delicious "Melinda"
apples, picked from the tress in the lower
valley. Why not take some home with some
butter made with the milk of mountain pastures,
or some of the renowned Trentino Grana cheese?
Why not visit one of our local cheese producers,
or the "MondoMelinda" establishment
in Val di Non, or catch the Trento-Malè,
the local small-gauge train, to go and taste
some of the local wines at the "Cittadella
del Vino" (Wine Town) and the "LaVis"
wineries in Mezzocorona and Piana Rotoliana.
And why not enjoy some roast chestnuts with
some newly decanted wine or strudel and
mulled wine, at home with us in front of
the open fire!
